In 2016 Errea House Museum featured Christmas Around the World. Canada is a large country with a population representing many different cultural backgrounds. Because of this, Canada enjoys lots of different Christmas traditions. Many of the traditions and celebrations come from the French, English, Irish, Scottish, German and native/first nation influences.

In 2016 Errea House Museum featured Christmas Around the World. In Mexico, Christmas is celebrated from early December to January 6th, with a related event on February 2. During this entire time, nativity scenes, poinsettias and Christmas trees are displayed. The season begins with celebrations related to the Virgin of Guadalupe, the patroness of Mexico, followed by traditions such as Las Posadas and pastorelas.

Thanks to the many volunteers who got the Errea House looking spiffy for the holidays. Pictured are Bugs and Joe Fontaine who were two of the thirteen volunteers who braved the very cold weather.
